Carl Craig is one of the most lauded techno producers to come out of Detroit’s “second wave,” beginning his production career under the tutelage of Derrick May. Craig’s output over the years has stretched the boundaries of the genre, deftly incorporating jazz with Innerzone Orchestra (and inspiring the nascent drum and bass scene with 1992’s “Bug in the Bassbin”), jazz and hip hop with the Detroit Experiment, while still producing and remixing under a number of his own production aliases (69, BFC, Psyche, TrĂ©s Demented, and more), and running the illustrious Planet E label.
